Okay so I have done a few movie reviews now to get started and so today I thought I would post about my other love. Tv shows with great gay story lines! Now these are a few of my favorites that I thought I would share. This part has the first 5 and part two will have the next 5!
1. Queer as Folk (American)
2000-2005
5 seasons
Netflix and YouTube
Summery: The lives and loves of a group of gay friends living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Yes, for once America made a remake that was better than the original. Queer as Folk is something I honestly never bothered myself with until last year. It was a show I always thought was just some story about sex. But it's not. Oh my god it's...well okay they do have a lot of sex...but the story is so well written, acted, and formed. I cannot begin to even give enough love to this show. The characters are all diverse and wonderfully developed. Seriously some of the best charter development I have ever seen in any movie or Tv. The family relations you see built and the struggle these characters go through just to be who they are..it's beautiful. Plus, early 2000's...bomb ass fashion, am I right? Justin and Brian go down as one of the greatest couples in Tv history, this was a seriously ground breaking show.
2. Verbotene Liebe (German)
2006-Ongoing ( Not with the same couple though)
Soap Opera
YouTube (with English subtitles)
Couple: Christian and Ollie
So this is a gay storyline, rather than a gay Tv show like Queer as Folk. The story line centers around Ollie (Oliver) and Christian. These two start out as enemies, then friends, and then fall in love. Most of the first half of their story line centers around Christians coming out and then how their love progresses. There are a lot of really awesome things about this show, despite it being a soap, though it is definitely not like an American soap, don't worry. Christian and Ollie have a great loving and sweet dynamic and honestly no matter how the story line turned out, for me it was true love. You could see it. The writing is also really great and deals with a lot of fanfic worthy situations, which of course I love. One of the other very nice things is that Ollie openly says he is bisexual which is very rare for media. He of course has a leaning toward men, but he is does say in the show that he is bi. Christian though he doesn't explicitly say it, also seems to be bisexual. It is interesting and kind of nice to see bisexuals getting represented. There are a lot of adorable and loving scenes in this series and I have a bunch of them bookmarked because they are so cute! I really recommend this story line...at least the first half.
3. O Beijo do Escorpiao (Portuguese)
2014
Soap Opera
YouTube ( english subtitles. Parts 1-34(Final))
Couple: Paulo and Miguel
Summery:
Paulo and Miguel are best friends and private jet airline pilots who change from friends to lovers after a series of misfortunes.
Oh...Paulo and Miguel. Okay so to be honest this is Soap Opera trash at it's finest and I adore it! Honestly, this couple is very sweet and isn't just an add on couple to the main story, they are very very much part of the main story which is nice. It doesn't hurt that both boys are extremely attractive and actually really really good actors. Plus, the story even gives them some 'sex' scenes and lots of kisses. It's sort of the typical, gay friend is in love with 'straight' friend and then he finds out and gets angry until something happens and he realizes he is in love with his friend as well. The exception here is that neither Miguel or Paulo are out, though Paulo does realize he is gay. It is interesting to watch them sort of come out together. I will warn that it does take a while for them together...I think it takes them till part 24 of 34 to become a couple. But it is so worth it! The ending scene of the whole show...I think....is about them and it is amazing!
4. Lovesick The Series (Thai)
2014-ongoing
Youtube (English subs. 12 parts so far.)
Couple: Phun and Noh
Summery:
Phun and Noh are boys at a high school in Thailand who meet through a mutual need and develop from friends into something more.
So this show is new and ongoing, with only the first season out right now and the second not due until April of this year. Okay, so culturally there are some things you have to know to be able to understand and enjoy this show. So Thailand has that sort of Asian mentality even though they do have a lot of gay couples on their shows, and by this I mean that they don't show a lot of kissing even for the straight characters. This is a cultural difference that takes a little getting used to. There is also the fact that this show like a lot of the media I have watched from this country is a bit lower budget than what we as Americans are used to seeing on TV. This does not mean it is not a really good and cute show though. I will admit that it is a bit cliche, but I sort of like that about it as it gives it a cute sweetness. Phun and Noh are really adorable actors and they have a great chemistry. I think the writers really wrote a lot of great and interesting scenes for them as well. It deals a lot with Phun and Noh coming of age and discovering their sexuality and what they need from each other. I honestly really really adore this show and I go back to watch scenes from it a lot. Plus, Phun's little sister is literally me so...
5. Salatut Elamat (Finnish)
Ongoing (For this couple it's been since 2013, for the show...a really really long time. Since the 90's I think.)
YouTube (Elias story. Parts 1-287. Still ongoing)
Couple: Elias and Lari, Elias and Miska, Lari and Kalle
Oh look another Soap...Kendall what are you doing with your life? Alright but seriously this one is amazing, I have been following it for 2 years! Okay so this one is the story line of High school students Elias and Lari. It is yet another enemies to lovers coming out story, but I love them so what can you do? Elias is the only out boy in their high school and Lari who develops feelings for him bullies him while simultaneously coming onto him. It is a great story line, really well written and the actors are absolutely great! Their story is really sweet and has some amazing moments. Plus, they get lots of kisses and sex scenes. I know I also put the names of other couples up there and if you watch the show you will get why, but don't worry...Elias and Lari are end game for the show! This show is up to part 287 and it takes till about part like 50...or maybe 80 for Elias and Lari to get a move on, but the show is still ongoing and is posted mon-thurs usually around 10am! So there is a concrete schedule and really nicely done subs.

Movies in Review: Shelter (2007)
Cast: Trevor Wright, Brad Rowe, Tina Holmes
Date: 2007
Rated: R
Rated: R
Country: America
Rating: 5 Stars
YouTube: Yes
Ending: Happy
NSFW: YES ( Sex scenes though nothing is explicit AT ALL and the swears...)
So this movie...just take a minute to appreciate the beautiful mush that this movie will turn you into. Most people who are into LGBT films have seen this movie and adore it. There is something so pure and sweet about this movie...honestly I have never watched any other gay movie that is anything like it. It won GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Film – Limited Release ·Philadelphia QFest Special Award.
Summery:
Staring Trevor Wright playing Zach, a weary artistic 20 something living in San Pedro, California. He is in a slump, not in college and working two jobs to help support his older sister and his adorable nephew Cody. He then meets Shaun again, his best friend Gabe's older brother, after many years. This leads him on a path of self discovery and a way out of the hand life has dealt him.
Trevor Wright is a beautiful and kind souled looking person which is part of the reason I love his character so much. The chemistry he has with Shaun (Brade Rowe) and the way they help each other find themselves is brilliant. There is of course the inevitable coming out angst that every movie seems to have ( I don't knock it but...lets be honest. It is always there.), but it does it in a way that shows how much Zach and Shaun care for each other and how it really does get better if you can be your true self and go for the things you want in life. This movie has a lot of great dialouge, loving sex, and beautifully sweet romance. The later of which I think is sometimes lacking in films. I absolutely adore this movie and have watched it with my girlfriend who also loves it ( and she is not typically into romance movies). I highly recommend checking it out on YouTube, because honestly it has one of THE BEST ending scenes in any LGBT movie ever. Like. Just...I can't with this movie. Plus, the soundtrack is awesome and the dudes are cute. What more could you ask for?

Movies in review: Maurice (1987)
Cast: Hugh Grant, Rupert Graves, James Wilby
Date: 1987
Rated: R
Rated: R
Country: England
Rating: 5 Stars
YouTube: Yes
Ending: Happy
NSFW: YES ( Sex scenes...oooo)
This movie is an adaption of E.M Forster's novel 'Maurice' originally written in 1910. I have both read the book and watched the movie and I highly recommend them.
Here is a short summery courtesy of IMBD:
"After his lover rejects him, a young man trapped by the oppressiveness of Edwardian society tries to come to terms with and accept his sexuality."
Now what I love about this movie is the way it not only stuck to the book, but really gave you the feeling of what it was like to live in a society that criminalized the act of sodomy. The acting is brilliant and you can really feel the fear and love that these characters must conquer. It takes place in the early 1900's and so you get a really interesting costume design and lots of nice suits ;) Honestly this movie is very well done and so very sweet at times it is hard to bear. I recommend it 500% !

INTRO: All About The Blog
So this is my first post on here and I just want to start it right off. This blog will be dedicated to LGBT media and persons. That means...
Books
Short Films
Movies
Tv Shows/Storylines
Celebs
Real life Stories
I am doing this as a way to share my love and knowledge of LGBT media with other people. I have watched so many films, TV shows, etc., I feel like I should share my views and reviews on them. This will hopefully help other people with things to watch or read. I know at this point I have watched so much that I am always hunting for new things. I really like foreign things so this blog will have lots of recommendations to foreign cinema ( with english subs of course!), so hopefully there will be something for everyone.
My rating system is a 5 star scale and each review will have an image or images of the thing of which I am reviewing and then a summery of it and then my review of it. I will also always put whether it is a sad or happy ending, NSFW, and what kind of audience I would recommend it to.
I hope you all will enjoy my content and go watch and read some great LBGT works!
